Overview

This historic renovation of the Georgia Department of Transportation building included the restoration of the building’s façade as well as the interior renovation of five floors.

The scope of work consisted of removing and reinstalling existing exterior stone, renovating common areas and restrooms, and installing two elevators, one staircase, and a completely new HVAC infrastructure.

The biggest challenge our team faced was reinforcing the building’s existing concrete structure with carbon fiber while surrounding buildings remained operational.

This required strategic scheduling and coordination with the Client, property management staff, and subcontractors to complete the project on schedule while maintaining a safe working environment.

This work was also completed within an extremely limited site laydown area, which required our team to utilize a remote storage facility.

Critical to project success was early planning to ensure that all materials and systems were delivered and installed in place.

This philosophy of beginning with the end in mind ensured the project was set up for success.
