Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association representing nearly 21,000 chapter members. ABC selected HITT as the general contractor for the two floor build-out of its national headquarters in DC. The project featured high-end millwork and ornamental metals throughout the space. BIM coordination was conducted to assist in the planning of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design. The process consisted of: laser scanning of existing shell building, BIM modeling, clash detection, coordination meeting to resolve clashes. Interesting design elements included: a large rolling barn door at the lobby area, a curved wood slat wall throughout the lobby corridor, a large continuous steel supported concrete counter top.
