Sonesta Miami Airport

This comprehensive renovation project transforms a 310-guestroom hotel into a premier airport destination. The

scope of work includes a full upgrade of all guestrooms and corridors, with new finishes and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). The project also involves replacing the entire HVAC system and 200 tub-to-shower conversions.

The heavy renovation includes significant upgrades to the hotel’s public areas, including the lobby, reception area,

ballroom, meeting rooms, and restrooms. A key feature of the project was the relocation and build-out of a new bar and restaurant, featuring custom millwork, intricate tilework, and luxurious stone finishes.

Despite challenges such as city-related Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) delays and weather impacts, including hurricanes, the HITT team maintained the project schedule and even delivered select areas ahead of time, allowing the client to begin operations earlier than anticipated.
