Ken Whetzel

Site Operations

Ken brings more than 32 years of construction experience to his work at HITT. He began his career at HITT in 1990 as a superintendent where he rapidly advanced to senior superintendent and was promoted to his current position as Vice President of Site Operations in 2009. Ken plays a key role in site operations and uses his experience to deliver quality on-site staff supervision, scheduling, and compliance to contract specifications and Client needs. Ken also applies project collaboration tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) to ensure quality control and further drive timely delivery of construction progress. As a senior leader at HITT, he continues to improve relationships with new and existing Clients and subcontractors, and plays a key role in defining HITT’s corporate culture.

  • Presidential Tower
  • Special Project 1a $172 million project where Ken oversaw a staff of 1,100 workers daily and successfully adhered to a timeline of 12 months
  • Special Project 2, a $210 milltion project representing the first phase of a 57-acre campus development, and included the construction of a 418,000-sf office building and tenant fit-out, including 370,000 sf of raised access floor area
  • W-Hotel, a luxury hotel in downtown Washington, DC.
