Boston Properties Awards Reston Town Center Project to HITT

HITT to break ground immediately on two multifamily high-rise towers; this is the firm’s sixth base building project in the Town Center, and the final parcel in the development’s urban core.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Boston Properties, Inc. has awarded HITT Contracting Inc. the contract for construction of their new Block 4 project called The Signature in Reston, Virginia. This project is the sixth project in the Reston Town Center that HITT will deliver for Boston Properties.


Designed by Shalom Baranes Associates, the project will be built on a 4.5-acre site (currently surface parking) located at the corner of Reston Parkway and New Dominion Parkway. The Signature consists of two new residential towers—the 21-story West Tower and the 19-story East Tower; a six-story North Low-Rise component, containing two-story apartments; and a six-story South Low-Rise component, comprised of one-level apartments adjacent to the entry court.


The 1.2 million-square-foot Block 4 project will deliver 508 apartments and amenity spaces, including a rooftop pool. The covered garage will offer below- and above-grade parking for 1,200 vehicles. Designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, the total value of construction is more than $150 million and along with luxury living spaces includes 24,000 square feet of ground level retail.

Under Mr. Bardin’s leadership, HITT previously completed the 1.8 million-square-foot South of Market development for Boston Properties, which included four office towers and two parking garages.


The Signature, which will break ground immediately, is scheduled to deliver in 2018.
