First Line of Offense

You’ve never seen a more focused group of individuals than our Preconstruction team on bid day. They’re in early and out late, working against the clock to make sure our pricing is precise and our budgets are balanced.

“This team has an incredible work ethic,” shared Senior Estimator Dave Pfirrmann. “We’re detail oriented and driven to win, encouraging one another along the way.”

The department is a critical resource to our offices nationwide. The team of 16 has made a name for themselves when it comes to budget accuracy, consistently coming within 2% of contract value. This is no small feat as the team estimates more than 75 projects per year with an average value of $40 million.

It’s not just about the numbers for this group; they are a critical intersection for our subcontractors and clients. Impacting relationships on both sides of the table, they are our first line of offense for ensuring a successful project.

“Much of our success relies on our communication skills and relationships, particularly our ability to perform under pressure and maintain composure in high stakes conversations with clients and subcontractors,” said Dave.

“Our vision for preconstruction is to offer the best front-end service in our industry,” said Co-President Drew Mucci. “We’re not satisfied to give the same deliverables as our competition; We aim not just to help our Clients make decisions, but to provide value beyond what is expected.”
