HITT Contracting’s multifamily team recently completed construction of 383 apartments at One Hill South, a new luxury apartment building in Southeast DC. As part of their Trees for Keys program, the team has planted an additional 383 trees, one for each unit delivered.
Launched in April of this year, the Trees for Keys is a one-to-one initiative that plants a tree for every multifamily unit built by HITT. To date, HITT has planted more than 1,500 trees, a number that will continue to grow as future multifamily projects are completed.
“We’re proud to partner with our owners and designers to create multifamily projects like this one,” shared Vice President Josh Foreso, who oversaw construction of the building and initiated the Trees for Keys program. “The next two years will bring more than1,000 new units to our portfolio—which will keep us busy with even more planting.”
One Hill South, The Related Companies debut project in the District near Nationals Park, elevates expectations for luxury living in DC. In addition to the 383 apartments, the building offers residents a private Equinox gym, landscaped courtyard sanctuary, private dining and entertaining areas, a children’s playroom, and rooftop pool, hot tubs, and barbecues.
HITT’s work as the general contractor on the project recently won top honors for excellence in Residential Multifamily High-Rise Construction from the Virginia and Metro Washington chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
