The 2023 JDRF Real Estate Games: Fundraising Field Day

The annual JDRF Real Estate Games, ignites the philanthropic and competitive spirit among real estate, architectural engineering, and construction industry members. For the past 34 years, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) has hosted an adult field day for industry members in the Washington, DC region to help fund research to end Type 1 diabetes (T1D). More than 100 DC-area general contracting, commercial real estate, architecture, engineering, and other related companies come together each year for some friendly competition for a good cause.

This fun-filled day of Olympic-style games is something that HITT has been honored to take part in for the past 20 years, and in 2023, we were proud to be the title sponsor of the event. Some fan-favorite games include cornhole, the obstacle course relay, and of course, tug-of-war. This activity-packed day allows for team members to connect with summer interns, spend time with colleagues, and network or catch up with fellow industry members. Vice President of Business Development Julie Stupp shares, “The JDRF Games are an incredible way to give back to the community through raising awareness and funds in support of juvenile diabetes research. It’s highly anticipated and such a fun day interacting with real estate and AEC colleagues from across the DMV. I love seeing the camaraderie between teams, people getting outside their comfort zones, and showing off their competitive spirit!”

“Each year, the JDRF Real Estate Games represent an opportunity for us to work together as a company, and an industry, to overcome obstacles and raise funds for a great cause.  In many ways, the event is an extension of our culture at HITT, as it represents so many of our core values, ‘Work Hard, Stay Humble’ and ‘Be the Good’ especially,” shared P.J. Ross, chief financial officer and one of the day’s star obstacle course competitors.

The Real Estate Games raise more than $800,000 annually, making JDRF the leading global T1D research and advocacy organization. We’re so proud to be involved in fundraising for this worthy cause, and we look forward to continuing our support and competing for years to come!
