Steve Fisher had big shoes to fill when he began his career at HITT. “They were looking for someone to follow in Mrs. [Myrtle] Hitt’s footsteps,” recalled Steve. “We were so small at the time; I don’t even know that I had a title.” Almost 40 years later, he’s tackled a wide range of responsibilities and currently serves as our director of contracts administration.
Like Steve, many of our team members have been with HITT for the majority, if not all, of their career. Safety Superintendent Ronnie Holmes joined the firm in 1997 and still remembers some of his very first days here. “Russell stopped in to my office on my second day on the job and, after asking me how things were going, told me that if there was anything he could do to make my job easier, just to let him know,” he said. “I was blown away by that. I realized this is the place I want to be and I’ve been here ever since.”
Senior Estimator Paige Davis has 18 years with the company. “More than anywhere else I’ve worked, HITT is the place that I’ve felt most at home,” she shared. “The secret to longevity here? Be adaptable, humble, and willing to change.”
Payroll Administrator Tina Furlong, who started here in 2000, echoes those same sentiments. “Things have become more technical as the company has grown, but that only makes my work more challenging and rewarding,” said Tina, who was named Employee of the Year back in 2007.
These are just a handful of the dedicated employees on our team. We’re forever grateful to our long-tenured team members for their dedication, loyalty, and leadership.
“It’s amazing to me to see the changes that have happened in the company, and what can happen when good leadership and team members work together toward the same goal,” said Steve Fisher. “I never could have envisioned this future for HITT—its mind boggling!”
