BIO—1201 New York Avenue

This multi-floor interior renovation within an occupied building underwent a remarkable transformation. The monumental staircase features curved wood ceiling panels, a perforated metal panel, and a custom light fixture centered above. At the base of this striking staircase, cladded planters and upholstered seating created an inviting ambiance. Demountable partitions were strategically installed, giving rise to a dynamic layout that includes offices, flexible workspaces, and collaboration rooms. Adding a distinctive touch to the environment, blue and purple gradient wallcoverings, glass film, and back-painted glass were integrated alongside demountable partitions and custom millwork. Notably, the space now boasts a spacious pantry, featuring custom millwork, tiles, and abundant greenery, providing a bright and airy atmosphere. This inviting area serves as a gathering space, offering panoramic views of the outdoor terrace and downtown Washington, D.C. Additionally, a 100-person conference center provides flexibility with the option to divide into three spaces using operable partitions supported by structural steel.
